Methodology

Every chord and scale's real notes are computed from its root note and quality using standard music-theory interval formulas (semitone offsets from the root) — the same computation for every key, so a C major and an F# major page are generated from the identical formula transposed, never hand-typed separately and never guessed.

Fingerings and voicings (the specific finger-on-fret / finger-on-key positions shown in each diagram) are a separate, per-chord authoring step: a chord's note set can be played several genuinely different ways, and the diagrams shown reflect real, commonly taught fingerings, sourced and cross-checked, not generated automatically from the note set alone.

Copyright scope (binding)

StrumAndKey covers chord shapes, scales, and music theory — all facts, freely explainable. It never publishes tabs, chord-sheets, or lyrics for any specific copyrighted song.

Chord shapes, scale patterns, and music theory concepts are facts about how music works — freely explainable by anyone. A specific song's tab, chord-sheet, or lyrics are that song's copyrighted expression. StrumAndKey only ever publishes the former.
